COVID-19 Prevention 101: How to Boost Your Immune System
With the coronavirus causing a global panic, one of your main focuses should be learning how to boost your immune system. Because Americans have no resistance to this virus yet, there is no better time than the present to try new immunity-boosting methods. Continue reading as we discuss the 7 best ways to optimize your immune system.
1. Use Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF)
PEMF stimulates healing at the cellular level. This unique form of therapy uses a special machine to gently pulse electrical charges into your body, giving your cells the energy they need to fight off disease.
Several studies have shown that PEMF decreases inflammation and cytokine levels–both of which can drain the power of your immune system. To prevent inflammation from damaging your resistance, you need to address the problem before it occurs. When it comes to the coronavirus in particular, we recommend preparing with PEMF specifically on your lungs or all over your entire body.
When PEMF is applied to your upper chest area, it stimulates your thymus gland–the source of T lymphocyte cells. T cells are directly involved in immunity, and are vital when it comes to regulating your body’s response to inflammation and infections.
2. Get a chiropractic adjustment
Chiropractic adjustments are ideal for optimizing your nervous system functioning—not just treating pain. Your nervous system controls the efficiency of your overall bodily functions. The healthier this system is, the healthier you are as a whole.
When your nervous system malfunctions, you become sick. The key to wellness is as simple as realigning this power system, and a chiropractic adjustment can help you clear the pathway for the nerve that controls your immunity.
Chiropractic adjustments are good options for children as well, and doing this regularly can help your entire family optimize their nervous system functioning; building immunity to even the most widespread pandemics like COVID-19.
3. Take immune boosting supplements
If you haven’t started already, now is the time to start eating immune boosting foods and taking supplements. Mushrooms, deeply colored fruits, berries, and leafy greens need to be incorporated into your diet.
Supplements like elderberry, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D3, and Zinc are also critical to boosting your immunity. For the time being, we suggest taking higher levels of Vitamin D3–specifically at least 10,000 IU every day.
4. Get enough sleep
With the nationwide quarantine in full effect, there’s really no excuse when it comes to getting your full 8 hours of sleep every night. Your body needs the proper amount of rest in order to fight off the virus.
5. Limit immune suppressing activities
In stressful times like these, you may be more inclined to drink or smoke than usual. However, it is very important that you avoid these immune suppressing behaviors. Along with excessive alcohol and smoking, steroids and other drugs can all destroy the gut microbiome, making it harder for your body to fight off foreign invaders like COVID-19.
6. Exercise
The current quarantine does not forbid outdoor activities like running or biking around the neighborhood–so long as you keep a 6-foot distance between other bikers and joggers. In times like these, fresh air and sunlight can be very beneficial both physically and mentally. Make sure to go outside and take deep breaths to clean your lungs.
7. Laughter and meditation
Laughter truly is the best medicine. When combined with meditation, the healing part of your nervous system becomes stimulated. Both are ideal for lowering your blood pressure–a necessary component in boosting your immunity. Clearing your mind through meditation is one of the best ways to reduce stress, thereby giving your body the strength it needs to ward off infection.
